Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Which option should I choose when I sign up and what is included?
This year we’ve simplified the choices and created clear distinctions between resources for kids and adults. After surveying lots of previous 30 Days Wild-ers, we listened to your feedback and created one 30 Days Wild challenge that’s perfect for those taking part with children, and a more ‘grown-up’ version for those taking part without children.
The kids’ postal resources feature a child-friendly design and includes herb seeds, a poster with wildlife facts on invertebrates and a spotter sheet, stickers and a guide for parents/guardians/teachers on how to go wild with lots of activity ideas.
Adults taking part without children will receive a greeting card through the post, complete with a pack of herb seeds and a tear-away postcard to send to a friend to encourage them to get involved in 30 Days Wild with you!
Everyone will also receive access to digital resources, including:
- Daily emails with ideas and inspiration
- Activity guides
- Spotter sheets
- Weekly completion badges to use on social media platforms
- Completion certificate
- Lesson plans (for educators)
Can schools, businesses and care homes take part?
Last year marked the 10th anniversary of 30 Days Wild, so we took the time to speak to participants about what they liked about 30 Days Wild and what they thought could be improved. As a result of the feedback we received, we simplified the sign-up options.
If you are taking part with a school, children’s activity group such as Scouts or a homeschooling group, choose the 'taking part with children’ option. You’ll still have access to 30 Days Wild lesson plans when you sign up along with the full suite of digital resources.
If you’re taking part with a care home or business, we recommend choosing the 'taking part without children’ option. You’ll get access to a whole range of digital resources and ideas via email, which can be adapted to suit your needs.
I’ll be taking part with teenagers. Which option should I choose?
It’s up to you! The design and activity suggestions of the 'grown-ups’ option may feel more appropriate depending on the age of your teenager, so we would recommend that. However, you’re welcome to order the kids’ resources if you feel it would be more appropriate for your family. Don’t forget to check out all our digital resources too!
Will there be a fabric badge this year ?
Yes! The collectable fabric badges from Pawprint Family will be back this year. You can order a badge via their website.
A big thanks to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery, who have helped make the #30DaysWild challenge possible.
