Penrhos Spirits
Penrhos Spirits joined Herefordshire Wildlife Trust as a corporate partner in May 2024.
The small batch, copper distilled spirit maker, is based just outside of Kington on the outskirts of Herefordshire. After a two-year innovation period, using the botanicals and fruit found on their farm, they converted the 250-year-old cow shed, and Penrhos spirits was born. Penrhos is currently leading the charge for sustainability within the drinks industry, with their switch to 100% recycled aluminium bottles and passion for saving fresh produce from landfill to create their products.
When asked why they had chosen to partner with The Trust, Harriet Williams, Sales Director said: ‘We are so lucky that at Penrhos, we live every day surrounded by greenery, our bees, animals and beautiful nature. We are two farming families creating award winning spirits on Penrhos Farm in Herefordshire, we use wonky fruit to create delicious gins and are the first distillery to bottle into 100% recycled aluminum. This helped to improve our packaging's carbon footprint by 91% which is something we are very proud of. We want to do our best to protect the environment and the beauty that we are used to seeing which meant partnering with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust made total sense!’
