The Big Switch Off

The Big Switch Off

This year, CPRE Herefordshire and partners are asking residents, businesses and schools to take part in the Big Switch Off on 23 February 2025 from 7pm onwards. 🌠

Unnecessary and obtrusive lighting wastes energy, adds to electricity bills and releases more carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Artificial light at night is also harmful to wildlife and interferes with our sleep patterns which can affect our long-term health.

This event is a highly visible act to do something positive to save carbon, energy and money. It also helps to reverse the severe decline of insects and other night-time pollinators.

Join us in enhancing Herefordshire's dark skies - for climate, nature and people - and add the Big Light Switch Off to your diaries for 23 February 2025 from 7pm onwards. 🌠
