Jamie joins the Trust from The RSPB where he has led the organisation’s Future Nature Team, established to tackle the systemic drivers of nature loss rooted in our economy. His career has focused on environmental and social transformation: first as a teacher and community organiser; working at a management level in business, experience in local government and then on to more recent leadership roles as Head of Education and Community Organising at ShareAction and Director of Programmes at Clore Social Leadership.
The appointment comes at an exciting time for Herefordshire Wildlife Trust which is supported by over 6,200 members and 500 volunteers with over 20 staff managing their conservation projects, nature reserves and engagement activities. The Trust’s flagship wetland habitat restoration project begins at Oak Tree Farm in the Lugg Valley this year and the Trust now manages 60 nature reserves with recent acquisitions including Ail Meadow near the village of Woolhope, The Goggin and Norton Wood Orchard. The Trust’s Team Wilder programme is also supporting increasing numbers of communities and individuals to take action for nature across Herefordshire alongside their established events and activities such as WildPlay.
