On 23rd February, Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, together with volunteers working on the Yazor Brooks Restoration Project, met with Herefordshire Council to discuss the possibility of making the "Essex Arms" field into an urban wetland park. This currently unused site which is situated directly opposite the new Medical Centre on the City Link Road (Station Approach) has the Yazor Brook flowing through it, and being the lowest lying land in this area is a valuable sink for flood water. Discussions were very encouraging, so as long as various issues and funding can be resolved, we hope that this exciting venture will come to fruition.
