The Courtyard’s summer show, Down to the Woods, is produced by their Senior Youth Theatre and will run in Hereford from 19th to 22nd July. The show is an immersive experience created especially for 2 to 7-year olds but can be enjoyed by the whole family.
The theme then comes to Queenswood Country Park, starting with The Porridge Trail, perfect for ages 2 to 7 and running every day from the 8th to the 23rd July. Families can follow the trail to find six audio points to hear the bears from The Courtyard’s Down To The Woods. The bears will give out the clues you need to find your way around the woods. All participants receive a reward sticker at the end of the trail and are entered into a competition to win a family ticket to this year’s children’s Christmas show at The Courtyard.
Queenswood’s Summer Story Trail starts on 24th July and runs through the summer holidays, for children aged from 4 years. Join us on a journey into a world of imagination and creativity and help the woodland animals fill in the missing parts of the story!
Queenswood’s big summer event, Bears, Beasts and Tales is being held on National Play Day, 2nd August. There will be activities for children of all ages running throughout the woodland including: live performances by the Senior Youth Theatre group from The Courtyard; magical story tellers; flag and wand making with Hereford Community Arts; Wild Play activities; hunt the bear in our woodland play park and a journey into a world of imagination on our Summer Story Trail.

The Youth Theatre are thrilled to be performing on location, giving them the opportunity to develop valuable skills in site specific performance and Promenade Theatre. The programme of events at Queenswood over the Summer looks great and we are really excited to be a part of it.”

The Arboretum and Country Park lies between Leominster and Hereford and offers woodland walks for all abilities as well as a Gruffalo Trail, audio trail, woodland playground, visitor centre and shop and café. Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum is open from dawn to dusk with facilities open from 10am to 3.30pm.
