Work began in 2017 to create wider 'rides' and glades within the north wood at Queenswood. The aim was to create a more diverse and open structure within the woodland and provide more 'woodland edge' habitat for bees and butterflies and many other species. This year, 2022, our monitoring scheme has recorded the silver-washed fritillary butterfly in this area of the site, for the first time.
