2025 Photo Competition: More Nature, Everywhere
Our calendars celebrate Herefordshire's landscapes and native wildlife - while raising money to continue our work to recover nature across the county.
We are very grateful to everyone who enters our competition and are always impressed with the high standard of submissions! Photographers whose photos are included in the calendar receive a free copy.
What we're looking for: We aim to feature as wide a variety of species and landscapes as possible. We try to match images to the seasons they are illustrating. We want to feature wildlife that is native to Herefordshire. photographed in Herefordshire.
How to enter:
- Photos can be of animals, plants, a landscape or a habitat. Where an animal or plant is the primary subject, it should be a species native to Herefordshire.
- Images must have been taken in Herefordshire (or on a Herefordshire Wildlife Trust owned/ managed nature reserve.)
- Images must be in landscape orientation. The Trust reserves the right to crop and enhance the photographs for reproduction in the calendar and other media if required.
- Images must be capable of being reproduced at A4 size. They should be at a digital resolution of 300 pixels per inch (image dimension of 3600 x 2400 pixels / 12” x 8”). JPEG or TIFF file formats are accepted.
- A maximum of 3 images can be submitted per photographer.
- Deadline for submissions is 31st July 2024.
- Photographs must be submitted by email to enquiries@herefordshirewt.co.uk. Please mark your submissions: Calendar 2025 and include your full name, image title and the location where it was taken.
- This is an open competition for all supporters, members, volunteers and staff of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and will be judged by three members of staff (who are prohibited from entering).
- Our 12 winning images will be featured in our Herefordshire Wildlife Trust 2025 calendars. They may also be used subsequently in marketing materials, printed or digitally, including social media. Images will be always be clearly credited to the photographer whenever used.
- Herefordshire Wildlife Trust offers no payment for photographs submitted or those selected and published.
- This competition is a fundraiser for Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. All monies raised will go towards the Trust’s work across the county.
Don't forget...
* Do no harm - the welfare of the wildlife and the wild places always comes first
* Don't get too close - let birds feed their young, move on if they're agitated or calling 'at you'
* Watch your feet - stay on paths (or within designated areas), don't trample flowers to reach more flowers
* Know the law - familiarise yourself with protected species and the laws that protect them
* Know the lure - don't use recordings to attract birds, they can disrupt the behaviour and risk the lives of chicks
