A Warmer Welcome fundraising appeal - update

Huge thanks to everyone who donated to our Warmer Welcome fundraising appeal which ran over the last year. We were fundraising to make improvements to our nature reserves which allowed more people to visit and feel welcome at some of our Nature Reserves.

While we did not reach our fundraising target, we did raise valuable amounts which will enable us to get underway with several improvements over the next year.

At Titley Pool Nature Reserve we will spend around £200 to improve the track which runs from the reserve entrance gate to the car park; around £400 on a new field gate and wings at the entrance; put up a new welcome sign costing around £60 and invest in materials to improve the bird hide entrance and steps.

At Lugg Meadows Nature Reserve, we have already improved the steps at the entrance and will be improving the access point near the bridge over the Lugg Rhea costing just over £1,370.

We raised just over £10,000 for a second bird hide to be built and installed at Oak Tree Farm. This nature reserve will be open to the public from late summer 2023 and hope to have the hide installed by the end of the year.

We were donated a little of £500 for signage which will help pay for a new welcome board at Littley Coppice Nature Reserve.

Though this specific fundraising appeal is now closed, we will continue to invest in our Nature Reserves with money raised through grants and donations and you can continue to donate to our Nature Reserves fund here: https://www.herefordshirewt.org/donate/donate-today
