Herefordshire Wildlife Trust asked the renewing companies to share their reasons for partnering with The Trust and what they felt their businesses gained.

Vernon Amor, Managing Director of Wye Valley Brewery said “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. We are privileged to be situated in the heart of rural Herefordshire, a beautiful part of the country and home to the best varieties of British hops. In continuing our support of the Trust, we’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves to help with local initiatives that see our home county’s natural world thrive.”

Helen Bowden, director, explains why Orphans is supporting The Trust as a corporate member: " Being based in a rural county means the environment is especially close to our hearts.  We're already committed to our green journey, both as a company and as individuals, but are keen to do more.  By joining Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, we want to play our part in helping Herefordshire overcome some of the environmental challenges it is facing  - such as pollution of the River Wye - and work towards creating a thriving, nature-rich county.  We're looking forward to learning a lot and opening up volunteering opportunities for the team. We feel very lucky that we can work with such a proactive organisation."

When asked about why they chose to partner with us Arbor Architects Director Elly Deacon Smith said: ‘’As a sustainable architecture practice, Arbor Architects are excited to form a corporate partnership with the Wildlife Trust, a charity whose vision for More Nature Everywhere aligns with our approach for creating regenerative and biodiverse communities. By aligning with the Wildlife Trust, we are committing to continuing our sustainable design approach that prioritises the preservation of natural habitats and biodiversity, ensuring our projects harmoniously coexist with the natural world. This partnership allows us to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future for both our built environment and the wildlife it interacts with.’’

Gemma, Director of Gattertop said "Sustainably driven and one of the first carbon-neutral drinks companies in the UK, we are committed to preserving and protecting the orchards, safeguarding the landscape that we rely on to produce our meticulously crafted organic vodka spirits.  By partnering with the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust we aim to ensure we are doing our utmost to preserve and protect our orchards and then by extension the local wildlife. We hope to further this relationship in the future by offering education days centred around the planting and maintenance of fruit trees."

Jamie Audsley, CEO of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust says ‘Its great to see so many Herefordshire businesses stepping up and demonstrating their commitment to nature recovery across Herefordshire.

“Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s mission is to put nature into recovery: reversing the declines in the abundance and diversity of native habitats and wildlife. Everyone should have the chance to hear the call of the curlew across Herefordshire’s meadows, walk through boughs of blossom in our traditional orchards and watch wildlife from the leafy banks of cool, clear rivers.

The Trust, however, can’t do this alone. We need to collaborate with landowners, communities, schools and businesses to create a wilder, greener and more sustainable Herefordshire. There are a multitude of ways we can make a difference together from small projects such as installing wildlife ponds to recovering nature on a larger-scale – collaborating on wetland creation or meadow restoration for example.

We are keen to work with urban and rural businesses to support nature-friendly practices from landscaping and planting around offices and inspiring staff and customers to looking out how production methods or supply chains can be altered to be better for nature.”
